Field Support Specialist — JO-2026-0216
A Field Support Specialist (Electronics Service) is responsible for providing on-site technical support, maintenance, and repair services for electronic equipment and systems. This role involves diagnosing issues, implementing solutions and ensuring customer satisfaction. The position requires strong technical knowledge, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently in various environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install and commission electronic equipment at customer locations.
- Diagnose hardware, firmware, and system-level faults.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
- Repair or replace faulty components such as PCBs, sensors, power supplies, and controllers.
- Calibrate and test equipment to ensure compliance with performance standards.
- Provide on-site technical support and customer training.
- Read and interpret circuit diagrams, schematics, and service manuals.
- Maintain accurate service reports, logs, and technical documentation.
- Coordinate with R&D, sales, and technical support teams for issue resolution.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards during all service activities.
- Solder and de-solder electronic SMD and through-hole components.
- Install and upgrade software/firmware versions in electronic instruments.
- Configure Electrolab instruments on customer networks; working knowledge of networking is required.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Diploma or degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- 2+ years of experience in field service or technical support roles.
- Strong knowledge of electronic systems, circuit boards, and diagnostic tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to travel frequently to customer locations.
- Able to stay at customer locations for at least one week, as required.
Work Environment:
- Primarily field-based with regular travel to customer sites.
