Sr. Vendor Development Engineer — JO-2026-0243
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard mechanical vendors (sheet metal, castings, forgings, machined parts, plastics)
- Conduct capability assessments, process audits, and onboard New Supplier
- Review engineering drawings, GD&T, and material specs; provide DFM inputs during New Product Launch
- Monitor and drive reduction in incoming rejection rates via CAPA
- Publish supplier scorecards (QDCR) and lead QBRs with strategic vendors
- Support Procurement team, if any issues observed at production.
- Bridge the technical Gap between QC and Procurement Team
- Identify VA/VE opportunities to achieve 3–5% cost savings on managed spend
- Manage ECN implementation at vendor end within agreed timelines
Requirements
- B.E./Diploma – Mechanical Engineering (mandatory)
- 2-4 years in vendor/supplier development within manufacturing (automotive, industrial, capital goods, pharma machinery)
- Strong knowledge of sheet metal, CNC machining, casting, forging, injection moulding processes
- Lean / Six Sigma Green Belt preferred; ERP experience (SAP/Oracle) is a plus
